closed ports on winfire

I recently set myself up on winfire(I know, I have since read the opinions that are posted) and tried to set up PCanywhere. It seems ALL incoming ports are blocked, scanners say stealth, even when I turn on file sharing and turn off firewall. I thought this was odd.
Is Winfire blocking these ports on purpose or is it a side effect of the type of service and I can bypass it with a little learning?
any info would be greatly appreciated
