Since our online radio and TV network is broadcasting the
Sonia Sotomayor hearings this week, I am picking up quite a
bit of traffic from office networks.

For our Justin feed, I require users go through our web site,
since the feed normally blocks US and Uk viewers, due to
copyright issues (I simply turned the geo restrictions off for
the Sotomayor hearings), I know where users are coming from.

So if you see someone gobbling down 540K of bandwidth, they
will be watching the Sotomayor hearings, on either or
Justin TV, or Sopcast feed.

And I see NOTHING wrong with tuning into the Sotomayor
hearings from work, as long as your WORK is getting DONE.
As long are you are getting your WORK *DONE*, there is
NOTHING wrong with tuning into the Sotomayor confirmation
hearings from your desk.

And if your company has a policy that doesn't permit this kind of abuse,
if you follow his instructions your connection will stand out like a
flare in a dark sky, showing that you're breaking company policy and
possibly getting you fired.

The person "Nomen Nescio" is our slug Chilly from, the Olympic days,
advocating the same breaking of company rules.

As a firewall admin for many companies, you will be seen and you will be
warned, then disciplined, up to and including discharge, if you are
violating your company network policy.

Don't believe the claim of "there is nothing wrong with Internet radio
at work, as long as you are getting your work DONE, and want to help
stations be able to get past firewalls", that's a lie from a person
trying to make money off your willingness to abuse company policy and
possibly cost you your job for the sake of HIS PROFIT.

that that header means anything much anymore? The only
usenet 'provider' I am aware of that honors this is Google.
