Jammer (http://www.agnitum.com/)

AT Guard (http://download.wrq.com/fileinfo.asp?filename=atgd322.exe)Download only

Tauscan (http://www.agnitum.com/products/tauscan/ttour8.phtml)

At Guard User Forum (http://home.pages.at/atguard/)

At Guard FAQ (http://www.cryogenius.com/atguard/atfaq.htm)

At Guard is no longer supported.
I personally am running ZA pro,Tauscan,At Guard, and the Jammer with no conflicts.
Resources upon boot 80%.
Some of this is not really necessary, but I am using some trial versions to see what I need and how it works.
The At Guard program has excellant pop-up,animated gif, cookie, and Java/Active X management systems along with a rules based firewall that can easily be disabled.
I have had no conflicts with ZA,and have used the learning function to actually discover things I may have set ZA up to miss!
Tauscan has a built in monitor to let you know when your registry is being rewritten and claims to both detect and remove trojans that quality AV will miss.
There is another program along similar lines called:

The Cleaner (http://www.moosoft.com/intro.php)

Both have 30 day free trials.
I would appreciate any feedback on these products and their use and will post my opinions on them after sufficient use and testing.

I put alot of work into this post and expected some replies as to whether it was helpful or not.

Out of curiosity I will ask If I have offended the board in any way and if so could I have some suggestions of what I did or what I should do.

I ask because I enjoy the people here and do not want to end up like some other members who are either ignored or flamed.

Thanks for any advice and for knowledge I have gained.

Hey Scoot
Easy my friend...you are not being ignored...some of us have other things to do.
Here is my input for your consideration
THE CLEANER... www.moosoft.com (http://www.moosoft.com)
I use it (a registered user), it is fast in checking and it has a module called TACTIVE. It sits in the taskbar and keeps ckecking for resident or incoming Trojans.....it has not warned me that I have any Trojans.
I recently downloaded "Anti-Trojan 5" with their 5 use limit...used it but didn't purchase it....I have decided to stay with "The Cleaner".

is it really necessary to run more than Zone Alarm. I am currently using Zone Alarm (the free edition) and Sophos Anti virus which claims to also find and destroy Trojans

would you advice me to use more programs??

Hey Cobra
You have two of the better programs for stopping incoming/outgoing and cleaning viruses.
Others may suggest different or additional items, however, (my opinion only)I would use the two you now have installed, as they are very good and come highly recommended.

Hey scoot, I have been out of town. We love ya, man, don't go anywhere! http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif We appreciate all of the help that we can get! http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif I have The Cleaner And Tauscan on file and will occassionally load them and run a check with them. To prevent Win98SE from having conflicts and crashing, I uninstall them after use. I use Anti Trogan as I feel they give the deepest scan and check more ports than most. There are methods of getting around the 5 uses, but I paid as I feel it helps them to continue research to keep the proggie up to date...
Scoot, again, Thanks for your efforts. Your input is always welcome here. And we like to hear from you! As for "The Board" being offended, who is the board? http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif At SpeedGuide, we are all one big family http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif

Hey Scoot
I, for one, am not ignoring you or flaming anyone. I appreciate your valued input and we all learn from each other. I am sure there are others in this forum who feel the same way.
I don't know everything, if I did I would be King.
So I am asking that you return and continue to be the trusted resource and voice of reason we have all come to respect.
Thanks for your time.

Hey scoot, No flaming happens in the security forum. If one of us makes a mistake, another will offer constructive criticism to help correct it. No mods usually come thru here as they have their hands full in the other forums. Typically, only serious and mature 'puter users venture into Security Forum, so we don't get the problems that some of the other forums do http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif You are as welcome here as any of us, and we enjoy hearing from you!

Hey Cobra, typically, if you use zone alarm pro, a proven anti virus proggie (see the guide to anti virus) and a fairly thorough trojan detector ( I personally use anti trojan, but occassionally, I load some others)you are probably as protected as you can resonally be. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif Knowledge is the key, as everyday new violations in security occur. Be very careful with free proggies, read the acceptance clauses thoroughly, and understand that no proggie can truly be free... http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/tongue.gif Enjoy your 'puter, we are here to help each other when a situation arises...

What antitrojan app is good out there, and what are the sites to get them? Been using ZApro and it's cool.
Thanks Jandoent for all the info and help, as well as the others in this forum...cool folks, all! http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
You know, I've noticed that the folks in this forum are more mature than the other forums I've visited....that's cool.... http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

I used it a long time ago...It's a lot more complicated than more recent ones (like ZoneAlarm) because you make up your own rules for it to follow. I recommened just using ZoneAlarm.

Hey denolth, these 3 are probably of the better anti trojan proggies: http://www.anti-trojan.net/home.asp?l=en http://www.agnitum.com/download/ http://www.moosoft.com/download.php

Hey Knine,Zone Alarm Pro is the best firewall. Why don't you email me http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif
