I haven't played with ICQ in over a year so I'm not familiar with the beta but IF ICQ has a server feature might there be a way to turn off the server feature from the ICQ program.
ICQ itself needs to be able to receive and send packets, if it can only send traffic you might not get your messages.

Zone Alarm says that some apps including ICQ must have server access. I do not let let it be a server on mine and it is OK though. But I have changed some of the default settings also.

Hi, do you know that message zone alarm displays when you run ICQ? Do you want ICQ to access the internet and do you want ICQ to act a server? Or something to that effect. Is it safe to let it act as a server?
-Thanks

Just saw this on cnet regarding ICQ. Even though it was posted 12/07, thought it deserves a post here... http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
