Hello folks
To anyone interested......if you need to have your emails sent and received via a secure and encrypted method, check into www.hushmail.com (http://www.hushmail.com)
No, it is NOT part of Microsoft....
I travel a lot and use it to send and receive emails from clients who do not want what they say to be intercepted....

You are welcome my friend.
How are you doing?...any improvement with the eyes?
What hardware solution did you decide on getting?
Let me know...it would be appreciated.

Hey fredra, thanks for asking. The eye is the same, not much chance of regaining site in it. Gessh, I am still plagued with sinusitus and bronchitis. If these would just get well...I am not happy with my eye specialist, so I will probably call the University of South Fl and see what they say. From the info that I have been gathering, there is a slight chance of reversing or shrinking the central retinal vein and returning partial sight. I am currently using an eye drop and taking blood thinners, with laser surgery a possibility. I read a lot of links and the University of Iowa says that it must first be determined to be astematic or not, treatment depending on which type. I have asked the assistant to my doctor which I have. She doesn't know. How do they know what treatment to give me then? She can't answer that, only the doctor knows. Well ask him or let me ask him. He is busy now, I will give him a message. I still haven't recieved a call from him. Needless to say, I am seeking other sources....I bought the 3Com Office Connect Internet Firewall DMZ. I recieved it yesterday, but I still haven't felt like hooking it up. Maybe tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey denolth, you have sent me some very good links and I'm going thru them slowly but surely. I try to read a little on it, then I check the boards here to see if someone needs help. (and general forum as well, have to stay in contact with all of my speedguide buddies)I haven't been on ICQ much for obvious reasons. Reading iis something that I always loved to do but it is very difficult for me now. I develope a bad headache real fast and have to stop for a while, take a nap, rest my eye...Thanks again for sending me links. It means a lot to me to know that you are thinking of me http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif I'm not suure why but I seem to be having some random problems with my email the last few days. Sometimes it wont connect me. Oh well, I guess that I am due for a re format. I may purchase Win2000Pro and give it a shot or maybe dual boot w/ 98SE. I don't know, but it is time to rest. Ken

Hi Jandoent
My prayers are with you my friend.
I have dual boot with ME and Win2K pro....the good thing about WIN2K is how it handles the TCP/IP stack....much more effectively than 98 or ME.
To get IPSEC in WIN2K you should use NTFS, however, I have stuck to FAT32 for both partitions so that I can read in either OS.
The drawback is that you have to install your applications separately under each OS...and maintain them as such (upgrades etc). It is NOT a wise move to have OFFICE 2000 being shared by both OS as they place dll's in different places.
If you need any further information, please email me.

Cool thing about win2k is the ability to change the "regional" section to read other languages....since I have many friends in Japan, it makes things easier to type in that target language....
Not sure why, but I noticed that ME kept hanging on my machine at home when I used win media player 7. The machine would hang when I changed media formats, from mp3 to mpegs (videos) or vice versa....so after uninstalling ME and putting 98SE back on, the app works just fine....

As a really under announced feature, Microsoft Hotmail now offers a form of encryption also.

You can read more about it on their website, basically your email travels plain text from hotmail to the company that encrypts it, then that company sends an email to the target person detailing how they can retreive the email online through ssl and a password.
