I just realized that I have never made a norton rescue disk. I have AV 2000, which gives me the option of using 5 floppy disks or one zip disk. What I would like to do is make a cd. Can I make a zip rescue disk, and then transfer that info onto a cd, or is there drive-specific information on the rescue disk? In other words, will it still work if I simply transfer the information to the cd, and the stick the disk in the cd drive OR will it bomb because it is running from the wrong drive?

The reason that I want to do this, in case you were wondering, is simply that I am a cheapskate and don't want to spend $10 on another zip disk unless I need to...

Hey Sol, the emergency disk is in case you have an emergency and need to reinstall. I don't see much use in making 1 if you have doubts as to whether it would work. Worse case senario would be to re format, a task that some people really hate to do.
