Hi,
In IE, does anybody know where it stores the information for autocomplete? I can reset the autocomplete through the gui provided in internet options, but just curious where does it actually store the information. I would like to be able to delete this file and any backs of it IE makes. I don't really trust the gui provided be internet options. Thanks in advance.
Stores it in the History. You may want to try the software forum.

You can clear it by Internet Options> Content Tab> then click on "Auto Complete" and a screen will pop up for you to clear everything. Shouldn't really need to delete folder, just tell it not to store passwords, ect...

Inquiring minds want to know...
just delete the history folder in DOS mode. This will dump the whole folder as well as the index.dat in it. A new folder & file will get recreated on reboot to windows.

Hmmmm....it doesn't seem to work. This is what I have in my autoexec.bat file:
DELTREE /Y %WINBOOTDIR%\COOKIES
DELTREE /Y %WINBOOTDIR%\HISTORY
DELTREE /Y "%WINBOOTDIR%\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES\CONTENT.IE5"
DELTREE /Y "%WINBOOTDIR%\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES"
What am I doing wrong here?
The items for autocomplete is still there....

Autocomplete has nothing to do with any folders, so deleteing them will not get rid of it. The only way that you can get rid of the entries in Autocomplete is by following the directions that Jandoent specified above.
