Can my Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gatweay (WCG200) be used to act as a wireless router with a Comcast Cable Modem (Arris TM402P/110)? If so how do I set that up?

I live in the USA and I just got hooked up with Comcast phone/internet/TV service. Comcast said I had to use their modem (Arris TM402P/110) in order for the phone service to work. The Comcast modem only has one port which is connected to my PC. Comcast also said I can't use my Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gatweay (WCG200) anymore, but that I will have to buy a wireless router to have wireless networking.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can explain if there is a way I can use my wireless gateway to act as a router along with the Comcast cable modem.

Thanks,

paul

It could be rigged to run as a wireless access point...but you have no NAT firewall protection, and can only be used for 1 PC unless you have multiple IP addresses from your ISP.

Best to get a more current generation broadband router.
