A Trick to make your dial up faster

I haven't tried it because I don't use dial up modem. But check it out if you do, as you can undo it if you don't like it.I know this doesn't seem like a security issue, however I am asked a lot how to speed up dial up with out having to download a spy proggie. http://www.zdnet.com/yil/content/surfschool/guru/guru001204.html

Hi Ken, I think that was my first tweak back in my modem days. I think the 35 is for 35 milliseconds.

I downloaded a proggy called Befaster, it seemed a little faster, but not as much as I'd hoped!!

Adding that line to your modem only makes it DIAL faster. It does nothing to speed you up.

There's a patch that will change some settings here.

As with any tweak, be sure to document the changes that you make and have a back up file or disk in case the tweak doesn't work for you. Also, don't try all of the tweaks at one time. Try 1 then experiment to see the effects, then at a later time try another. REMEMBER always have a back up!!
