I just downloaded and scanned my system with Ad-Aware 4.0. It found 5 references to spyware on my system. Some of these files are windows sytems DLL files. Should I be removing these????
The DLLS are
advert.dll
amcis.dll
Another entry that came up is acrophobia which is a game. Should I remove this also??? Will the game still work????
The last is a registy entry from comet.dll

Matt those two files are from netnak and can be and should be deleted, check first if this program (netnak) is listed in your add/remove section and if it is uninstall it. Get rid of comet, that's from comet cursor and as far as the game goes if you delete the reference to it, it won't work.

matt615; You should also get 'Zone Alarm' from www.zonealarm.com (http://www.zonealarm.com) and 'Anti-Trojan 5.5' from www.jv16.com/ (http://www.jv16.com/) to check/secure your system.
Both are free and safe progs.

I use Norton Internet Security. I downloaded Anti Trojan 5.5, but have yet to fully scan my system

Hey Matt, Rob and Keeper have given you excellent responces. I know that several Aureate/ Radiant programs add those dll's you listed. Be sure to do as Rob said and uninstall the program thru your control panel first. If you need some nonspyware replacement programs, let us know and we will try to recommend some to you. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif

Thanks for the info. I found that Netnak was not in the uninstall menu in control panel, but I did delete the reference to it.
