New to ftp(spyware free)

I have never used ftp and want to.
JANDOENT,or anyone who knows,what would you recommend and how do they work?

I use FlashFXP and Leech. I found that Leech is a little easier to use, but with Flash, I can xfer files between servers. I've heard that Bulletproof is a good one, but never used it.
Flash has great help associated with it, but I haven't checked out the help with Leech. I do know, if you use ZA, you have to set the proxy in the ftp client to use passive mode. Other wise you won't connect properly.

You can get Flash at www.flashfxp.com (http://www.flashfxp.com) and Leech from CNET Downloads.

I would suggest you get a few, try them and determine which works best for you!

Hey Scoot, Bamafan is right, he gave a link for flash, HERE (http://stud.fh-heilbronn.de/~jdebis/leechftp/downloads.html) is leech and HERE (http://www.ftpx.com/) is Explorer. From what I have heard, Flash is the best.

Scoot if your running a firewall which I'm sure you are you probably need to set flash to passive mode to connect.

Thanx guy's for the help,doh,I have it set up ok and can connect to ftp url's but I don't see any files or really understand how to download them?

The FAQ explained how to set it up but I guess I need more info,how about an address and some detailed instructions on connecting and downloading from it for just a test?

scott this is for flash but there all basically the same.

first set to passive http://server2043.virtualave.net/rbrescia/flash1.gif

then enter the info into site manager, address,user name,password and port are the only things you need. http://server2043.virtualave.net/rbrescia/flash2.gif

if you don't set it to passive you'll log on but want see any files. http://server2043.virtualave.net/rbrescia/flash3.gif

if you set it to passive you'll see the files, then double click on the folder you want and your set. http://server2043.virtualave.net/rbrescia/flash4.gif
