I realize the test file was not a virus, but does this report incicate I may have one in the same file?

Should I be nervous or am I getting paranoid?

Hey Scoot, Its telling that it found the eicar test file which to it is a virus. If you want to be sure, just delete the test file and rescan. You can download the test file again if you change proggies for AV or want to test email scanning, etc. There is no real need to keep it on file as all it is good for is testing. It also says that it couldn't test the Back Web files. I believe those are from Compac. You can uninstall it from control panel if you want. It constantly checks with "mom" to see if updates are available. Just make it a habit to manually check for updates yourself bacause this uses resources and I don't know about you, but I don't want ANY proggie to access the web with out me telling it to.

Is it a feature HP put on my machine stock.because I don't remember ever downloading any program called that.
Thanks for all your help.

Scoot, I believe that Back Web is from Compac. I had it on mine and I uninstalled, no problems. But I am almost positive that it is for Compac to alert you for updates. Do you have a red "C" in your system tray (by your clock)? NO, then "Go Fish" heheheh J/K

I have an HP.
Probably for their update program which I don't use.
I can uninstall it but it won't use resources if I don't have the update option enabled will it?
Thanks Ken

Hey scoot, uninstall it and periodically go by HP and see if you need any updates.
