i've been getting an increasing number of mouse attacks (im not sure what they're called) where my scroll bars are being moved, computer being restarted, etc etc...

i have zone alarm and black ice and it seems like a trojan...which i can't find...

zone alarm progs which i am suspicious of:
IPC server
Services and controller app
Generic Host Process for win32 Services

i have tried disabling them all but it doesn't seem to help

what can i use to search my comp...i don't have the time to do a reformat now...

PLEASE HELP!!

DL and run this proggie; http://www.anti-trojan.net/home.asp?l=en
It does a very thorough scan and may take care of your problem. It is free for 5 trial uses. I agree with you. It sounds like a trojan or a worm. I read some articles on your symptoms before, but I'm sick and can't think correctly now. Let me know if this proggie helps and as soon as I feel better, I will dig deeper to find that article.

Black Ice really isn't very good. You could probably uninstall it. Which Zone Alarm are you using, Pro or the free version?

using the free one
does pro have advantages?

Pro had better default settings aand seems to be capable of more specific settings. Check out some of the previous threads and it may give you an idea. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif

Did you try Anti-Trojan? Let me know if it helps out or if I need to dig up some more info.

That link definately works, I just clicked on it. I feel that it is one of the best trojan proggies around. What browser and version are you using? I know that you don't want to hear this, but I'm afraid that a reformat is your only option. It appears that you have either worms or trojans that have rewritten some of your programs. For the time that it will take you to manually search your registry, try to identify which nasties you have, delete all links and references connected, etc., and still have a good possibility that the situation would not be cured (if some of your proggies have in fact been rewritten, you don't have a choice)you would have been able to re formatt and be positivve of correcting it. The choice is up to you.

Before you format............
Tell us ALL of the programs that you have allowing access to the net in ZA.
I'm sure the booger is there somewhere.
Also, when your mouse starts moving on it's own, go to a command prompt and type this
"netstat -n"
Without the quotes. Your IP will be listed on the left and all the IPs that you are connected to will be on the right.
One of the IPs will be the person messing with you.
Write them all down and post back here with the results.

Peace,
