Hello all!

I have a D-Link DIR-825 Dual Band Router and a DWA-160 Dual Band N USB adapter (which, from what I've been able to find, should be a *very* good combination). However, when I start up my (XPSP3) system, the network will connect, however there will be virtually no data transfer. I have the 5.0 network set as preferred connection with the 2.4 as secondary. I have to manually disconnect the 5.0 and re-connect it (sometime twice!) before I get a "workable" connection, even though the connection strength is always reported as "excellect" and the speed as either 270.0 or 300.0 Mbps.

This, clearly, is extremely annoying. Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this issue?

Oh, and this is a secondary system through a hardwired system - that is, the other system is hardwired to the DIR-825 and this system uses that system as the gateway (192.168.xxx.xxx). Is there a different or "better" way of doing this? (Networking has never been my strong point, lol)

Thanks for any assistance with this!

Ok, I think I found out the problem - it look like it might have been a conflict between Windows Wireless Management and D-Link's Wirless Configuration Utility (AirNCFG.exe), which I never used but was running in the system tray. Removed that from RegRun and things seem better at this point.
