What is the best software firewall.

I think that the combination of Atguard and ZoneAlarm (combined) are the best.

Atguard is more configurable and ZoneAlarm makes your PC "invisible" to pings.
Atguard also has settings that will stop pop ups while browsing and allow to make animated graphix non repeating. pages load faster and NO POP UPS.

That is enough in itself to get it.
I heard that Norton bought Atguard and that the Norton Internet Security is actually a new version of Atguard.

Not sure if that's true.
Anyway, that's my two cents on the subject.

If you need Atguard, do a search for "FOSI" @ yahoo and go through a few of the pages that pop up.
You will know which is the right site after a little looking.

Hack Tracer is My Fave. Zoney caused too many problems i.e. downloadiing videos, Napster and on and on and on.

Mostly use Z-alarm. Trying HackTracer but when my IP lease expires Hack won't let it renew automaticaly. I have to shut Hack down and do a Release & Renew manually. It's probably just some minor thing I have to add but just not sure what to do.

True, AtGuard is now Symantec (Norton Internet Security 2000).

Checkout their tech support site (link below) and read about all the problems.

I had it (NIS 2000), in the past. The original (AtGuard) seems to be better, before Symantec purchased it.

Currently i run blackice and internet security 2000. I'm alot more secure now that i have 2 fire walls. Should i replace internet security with atgaurd
