ok, with zonealarm my gateway (or whatever...local ip or something) and subnet don't appear in that dialog...nothing is listed!

ok, with zap i get an address range listed there but nothing gets logged (neither in the alerts or in a file)! yes, i have nothing selected (there is a dialog that allows you to select what NOT to log).

please tell me WHY and how to fix these irritable PROBLEMS! thanx.

JeaAny...off the boat.

Hi JeaAny, Welcome to Speed Guide. I'm a little confused on your question. I believe you are saying that you have Zone Alarm Pro and that it isn't logging anything nor does it show your connection in advanced mode, Local Zone Content. Is this correct? Please be a little more specific, maybe it has just been a bad day and my brain has ceased to function.

dis jeaany again.
ok, let me clarify.
ADAPTER SUBNET FOR FREE VERSION HAS NO ADDRESSES UNDERNEATH IT. THAT IS WHAT I MEANT TO SAY, AND THIS AFTER UNINSTALLING ZAP FROM FOSI (GREAT PLACE TO TRYOUT RETAIL SOFTWARE). IN THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF FREE ZONE ALARM, I HAD A FEW ADDRESSES LISTED IN HERE --> SECURITY, ADVANCED, ADAPTER SUBNETS..... PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG OR IF THIS NEW VERSION OF ZONE ALARM JUST DOESN'T LIST ANY ADDRESSES THERE BY DEFAULT. THANKS a BUNCH.

OK, forget about the stuff regarding ZAP (i just want to get zonealarm free, aka ZAF, working). why doesn't it list anything in the adapter subnet group? does it not recognize my d-link ethernet card? i am using raspppoe, btw. also, after uninstalling previous versions of zonealarm (the pro and the prior version of free), i removed the c:\internet logs\ folder so all my settings were gone. however, i thought zonealarm is suppose to automatically add your adapters to SECURITY, ADVANCED, ADAPTER SUBNETS?

ok, now after you're done getting that sorted out with me, how come the ZONEALARM PRO i downloaded from fosi (kickme.to/fosi .. just a place where you can dl retail software to test out) worked well EXCEPT it didn't show and alerts or LOG anything (i did several security tests so there was plenty to log/alert me about... NOTHING was logged or shown in alerts!) ... i made sure i didn't have logging turned off or anything and also made sure that everything was being logged (there is a dialog that allows you to NOT log certain events, but i made sure i had it selected to INDEED log all events)... in the za log file, just the information about my time zone and when i registered was recorded... i know this version was just suppose to be used as a trial (before you buy the actual program from zone labs, but none of the software on fosi is suppose to be crippled in any way. i won't buy zap if the logging features don't work! btw, the adapter subnet portion LISTS an ip address range with ZAP (note that ZAF listed nothing at all!).

so, i hope you can sort out my ZAF and ZAP issues. thNx.

please reply, people.... much appreciated. SPEEEEEEEEDGUIDE ROX!

Hey JeaAny, Why don't you send me an Email, maybe I can help you out. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif I don't use or trust freeware/shareware and I have never used the free version of Zone Alarm.
