Did you bind it to NetBeui? I use cable, not dialup so I deviated somewhat, I binded dialup to NetBEUI to Client for MS & MS Family Logon. You should have a connection as long as Cable/DSL is binded to TCP/IP. If this doesn't work, call customer service with your ISP.
I have NIC binded (bound?) to TCP/IP
TCP/IP bound to nothing
Windows Logon
Everything comes up Closed on GRC site with no firewall, stealth with ZoneAlarm
One thing, each time I go to network it asks me if I want to finish setting the network up. I just say no

I followed the instructions at the Shields Up website to close my Port 139, but when I unbind the "clients for microsoft networks" of the TCP/IP protocol I can't reconnect to internet. The site mentions that their instructions might not work for some @home users, but I use DSL. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Just use free zone alarm and that port wont even exist to prying eyes!

Thanks for the replies. I ended up installing ZoneAlarm; too much hassle calling my ISP. But now i have another question: How do i allow people to download mp3s on napster?
