View Full Version : Sub Seven Port Probe Again
This time I was in an online game when this sob tried this and was actually disconnected from my game. What gives? Should I disable black ice while gaming? If this attempted hack killed my road runner connection does this mean anything? How would I check my system for this trogan everyone speaks of?
Thank You for all your help.

Whats odd is to why it crashed your connection? Black Ice should have masked the ports used by subseven. If you had Subseven installed or not. What do you have BI set at for security?
About your connection, did you just have to reboot?
Also did you report the deed to abuse at the address listed? (Side note, it might not do any good anyway since it's possibly spoofed)
I don't use BI anymore but Zone Alarm and Atguard would do the same thing.
The problem is that the program "POS UP" with the alert and becomes the focused window.
This is bad if your in a game as the firewall becomes the "top" application.
If you can disable the "alert" so that it does not pop up and just logs the attempt, you should not have this problem.
Make sure that BI does not inform you of attempts while you are in a game / app that you don't want to be bothered by alerts.
*Note* don't disable your firewall, just make it so that it doesn't alert you for conections.
Kinda like a "stealth mode"
