Configure router settings to allow AVG updates

Hi.. I am using window vista , my router is D-Link DI-524
I know the reason why I cant update avg automatically is because of my router as when I am using my friend;s connection its okay but just not at home. I am thinking is there any way I can configure the settings of the router be it applications/filter/firewall in the router settings page?

It's a basic NAT router, there is no firewall that blocks outbound traffic, they only block incoming requests from the internet. If you have internet access on your PC...your antivirus will update.
