I have a very good computer and 10-12mb internet connection yet I still have high ping that causes me to lag when I play online games like Americas Army. I came across this site and the TCP optimizer but I do not know how to use it. Any help would be appreciated.

The optimizer might not help the ping issues so much however a lower rwin might work better for your speed
Try the gamming tweak here it should help though
http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=158ral Settings tab:
Custom settings - check
Modify All Network Adapters - check
network adapter selection - your NIC
MTU - 1500
TTL - 64
TCP Receive Window - 128480
MTU Discovery - Yes
Black Hole Detect - No
Selective Acks - Yes
Max Duplicate ACKs - 2
TCP 1323 Options:
Windows Scaling - checked
Timestamps - uncheck
Advanced Settings tab:
Max Connections per Server - 10
Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 20
LocalPriority - 5
Host Priority - 6
DNSPriority - 7
NetbtPriority - 8
Lan Browsing speedup - optimized
QoS: NonBestEffortLimit - 0
ToS: DisableUserTOSSetting - 0
ToS: DefaultTOSValue - 80
MaxNegativeCacheTtl - 0
NetFailureCacheTime - 0
NegativeSOACache Time - 0
LAN Request Buffer Size - 32768
Then select "Apply Changes" and reboot to take effect. After reboot, post your new TCP Analyzer.

Thanks for the help but could you maybe explain how to do some of these things. Like, how do you change the rwin and what should I change it to. Also, what does changing the rwin do actually?

Chaning the rwin allows your computer to recive more packets ,or less packets depeding on the situation you want to change rwin.
Some do it for moe speed in work enviroments changing the rwin is a way to manage the amount of network trrafic.
It's a set amount of packets/data to get bufferred before and during transfer ,since that number is a fixed amount the connection should be faster since there is less decisions on the amount of data between host and host. Hopefully that answer explains it if not feel free to speak up:)
This guide should answer most of your questions on tweaking and values.

Those instructions for the optimizer that i gave in the post above , changes your rwin and other settings for you instead of manually editing the registry. Plus if the settings don't work the optimizer does allow you to revert back to default this saves time rather than backup registry first then change your rwin and other settings. .
