has anyone used this to make a install DVD for vista ?
http://www.vlite.net/about.html
i am thinking about going to vista ultimate from XP64, i got a free copy a long time ago from MS for doing that survey they had.
i am not sure if vista has drivers for my SCSI card, and thought i would integrate them into the install DVD.
also how can i tell if vista has my drivers on it ?
i tried the google but couldn't find anything :(

I use it to integrate SP1 into my copy and some hot fixes but I don't think you can do it for drivers and I don't think i'd want to either...ya just never know what problems your going to have.
okay, would i need to use a floppy disc for the SCSI drivers as i do in XP, or could i use a thumbdrive/CD ?
as you can tell i have never used vista except in VM :)

Vista/2K8 and newer allow you to redirect to another drive letter other than "A" for the ol' F-6 drive controller feed. So USB thumb drive, CD, etc...nice to finally have that feature.

Don't trash them, they can be re-purposed as robot heads!
AFAIK you can integrate the drivers using nLite of vLite & the setup pgm will find them because they get put in the dir that setup look during the install.

if you need Vista SP1 OEM I can upload it for you. Will work with your key to give you the version you have.

well I mean if your disks are just the basic installs and no SP1 but really if you just install the basic then the service pack afterward thats fine too..just takes longer :)
roger that, i understand now, i already have SP1 burned to CD, thanks :)

yeah its just the service pack integrated into the install of the OS.. much like is done with nlite and XP with Sp3 for example. Installs everything in one hit instead of doing them step by step.
