I am currently having a problem with my internet download speed...here is some background info:
We have had satellite internet for the past year without a problem, getting speeds of around 900-1000kbps which is what we should be getting according to our plan. In the new year, my laptop crashed and I had to send it away for warranty work which required the hdd and motherborad to be replaced. Ever since we got it back we are lucky to get speeds of 400-500kbps!! What would have changed in our computer to have caused such a thing??!!?? For the past few months we thought it was a problem with our provider and actually had them come out and do a service call and found that the problem is somewhere within our computer. The tech could not see a problem anywhere on his end and finally brought in his own laptop, connected to our internet and got over 1100!!! As soon as he plugged it back into mine it dropped back down to 500ish. Can anyone give me an idea of what may be going on??? It just hasn't been the same since we got the computer back!!
