Hi,

I have been experiencing a very high packet loss. I tried to reboot my router, modem. Even called my ISP, but the situation has not improved.

I have some experience with networking in general, but I'm definetely not an expert. The packet loss seem to appear from around 6pm till late at night. Sometimes my ping goes skyhigh as well and my connection drops out once in a while.

As far as I can tell, everything is working on my end. But since I want to find the leak I was hoping someone here can help me out and push me in the right direction. Where should I start?

Thanks in advance.

Léon

Do you have wireless? If so, is it secured?

Tried replacing patch cables?

DSL or cable? If DSL, any filters or RJ11 splitters? If cable...tried replacing any coax splitters?

Modem and/or router located near anything that would cause interference? Sitting on top of a big speaker/subwoofer? Right by a flourescent desktop light?

I'm connect to a WRT150N router through a cable. No splitters or filters. The modem and router are not near any other electronic devices.

I could run some diagnostic things, but I have no idea which ones are useful and how to read them properly.
