View Full Version : New SG Contest Idea
How about a christmas light/decoration contest similar to the pumpkin carving one? Just an idea. :)

baa hum bug... I never liked putting xmas lights up, too much trouble for such a big display. I keep it simple.
Neither do I, my current decorations around my apartment include two strings of lights, but I'm sure that some members around here enjoy going all out and I wouldn't mind seeing their efforts.

yeah but unless your already doing it..the costs of doing it would out weight the benefit unless Phillip gives membership for Life for 1st, 5years for 2nd and 3 years for 3rd place and so on.. :rotfl:
I was just tossing out an idea to see if it got any interest.

Thats why you should always have xmas lights! Buy after the season is over when there like 70% off in clearance.
Besides you have a kid, its time to go Tim Allen and test the power grid's limitations!

I sold or trashed all my lights from the past..they get all messed up and half don't work no matter how well you pack them. I might get some stronger LED's but other than that I don't do it as much as I used to.

I think that's an excellent idea:thumb:
Only had 1 tree in the past 14 years or so, but I think it's a great idea for anyone with a family.

Are we talking about the tree or the house here?
I'd like to see a house decoration contest, I don't decorate the house but it'd be nice to see what others have done.
I had initially imagined house, but it could be tree I guess? I won't personally be participating in either since I have nothing particularly impressive to show off, but I'd love to see some Tim Allen style house lighting decorations. :)

whoops, assumed you were talking trees:D
Hmm, not a bad idea... We could leave it open to any Christmas decodation, either tree/house/lights.

I can do a tree
How about just narrow it down to a xmas tree to keep it simple. Otherwise we should have done Halloween decorations and in that case I would have sealed the deal!

I think its a wonderful idea! :) You forgot to add however, that MadDoc has to continuously sing "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas", from the start of the contest to the finish! ;)

Remembering that video, while reading the pumpkin carving thread, is what inspired the idea, actually. :)
