Hi

I have rogers extreme internet and for the past week the internet just keeps disconnecting, the 'send' light keeps flashing every hour or so for about 15min to an hour.

also, sometimes when I load a page, it gives a connection error, as if the connection drops, but I have to reload it in order to see the page.

here are some of my logs:

Downstream power level is too high at 14 dBmV.

Turn off power to your modem for 10 mins and then on it and check power levels again.

I have reset the modem and it only came down to -13 dBmV.

it still disconnects.

Call your ISP tech in with a new modem and check out the line and replace the modem if it is found faulty.

This modem has been working for around 5 years perfectly, why would it just half work all of a sudden?

anyways, ill try to get my hands on a new modem

thanks

Its not so much that your modem suddenly failed, its a problem with the lines. Its sounding a bit like a bad splitter or fitting, you would be surprised how much of a difference swapping out a splitter or cable fitting can make. Also if you use those gold plated cables or splitters, they're bad news just fyi.
