I downloaded it, but I don't like how it alphabetizes bookmarks. Can't seem to figure out how to make it so the ones showing on the bar can be changed.

Just drag the ones you want on to the bar.

I like it for the most part but it's missing the ability to delete history everytime the browser closes, which is a feature i love about firefox.
I does seem very snappy too

Well if it could run without installing I would keep it on a thumb drive for dealing with some messed up browsers with tons of junk on them.
Current discussion on it: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1342045
It needs a lot of work still.

I'm trying it right now. It is indeed as quick as any other browser I've tried. Still love FF though and until this does something better I will stick with FF.

Refusing Google Updater = installation fail = Burke be Chromeless.
Someone find me a hack so's I can click the mouse wheel and scroll. It's why i use IE (6 btw). If I can have that functionality, I'll be pretty happy with chrome.

Has anybody read the EULA? There's quite a bit of a stink about some of the conditions and what that could mean for its users.
It's using WebKit as the rendering engine, so even if they end up porting this to linux, I think I'll avoid it and continue using the other offerings out there (including browsers using the same rendering engine, but without stuffy EULA's).

What don't you like about it DH? Just curious. I've been using it since last night when I read this thread and went off to dl, and I like it so far. What I like the best is how fast pages open - they're opening noticeably faster - not just a little bit, but a lot. Even that in itself is enough to get me seriously considering switching over. I like that they've got a bookmarks toolbar - I can't live without that, I like to be able to just go up and click on one of my fave sites and go.
It's still in beta so I'm sure they'll be adding more stuff, ect. I guess the only thing I don't like is it just looks so bare up at the top of my screen now - I'm just not used to it - I'm used to using FF and going hunting for pretty skins for it. I'm enjoying Chrome at the moment though, going to keep using it a few more days and see how it goes.
I can honestly say I'm not a fan.
I can honestly say this is the 1st time I have ever disagreed with DH :)
I like the speed, lack of clutter, and search/address bar.

I installed Chrome.. not happy with it, in regards to privacy.
Whenever I check my email or open up firefox, Comodo firewall
says that "google updater" is trying to connect thru port 80 out to a
i.p. address... this came after and with the chrome install, nothing is stated on
Google's privacy policy page on Chrome about this. More to the fact, after I
block "google updater.exe" on my firewall..
up jumps a web page from google saying that I should allow "google updater.exe" on thru my firewall..
Wrong... I'm done.. uninstall..

Hey guess what? After the uninstall.. guess what is there installed and is trying to access thru port 80 again? Google Updater again..
Yay!

What I did to get rid of it was to alt ctrl del to bring up Windows Task Manager, then found the googleupdater.exe. highlighted it and pressed the end process button, then folder, and then went in my profile to: C:\Documents and Settings\shinobi\Local Settings\Application Data\Google
and deleted the Google folder.
apparently they're changing the privacy policy / eula on it.

apparently.. they should.. I sent a happy message to them, because I do not think that was a real smart move on their part. Instead of getting users, lets jack with there privacy instead.

The way its written, its allowing use of anything really.
I've gone to downloading updates to Google Earth on software sites where they offer the .exe installer instead of Google's Updater crap.

That's what gets me.. there was only "Chrome" in add/remove software in Windows XP.. After uninstalling Chrome, and then seeing googleupdater still trying to "phone home".. I found there was no uninstaller for googleupdater.. I had to manually delete it from C:\Documents and Settings\shinobi\Local Settings\Application Data\Google

ahh, that sucks.
Use Commodo myself and kill googleupdater when it comes up. Just now removed the program, thanks for the reminder.

use chrome and when I had 3 Chrome windows open, each with multiple tabs. One of the tabs locked up and crashed, and it took down all 3 browser windows along with the tabs.
At least if Firefox 3 crashes it offers to reload all the pages you had opened previously. Chrome offered nothing after the crash.
