D-Link DWA-552 pci wireless adapter only 11kbs~!?!

Hi everyone I just bought a D-Link Extreme N Desktop adapter which is suppose to be able to reach speeds up to 100+mbs.

While I do currently have just dsl...the computer that is hooked up to the router is getting like twice the speed as my computer which is wifi to the router.

I ran speedtest.net and the connection is rated to be around 300 up & 275 down.

When I tryed to install the drivers & software cd on my pc they woud not install...in fact I had to run a cable from the router to get internet and install drivers from windows.

I have a 64 vista os and only got the internet connection thru vista as the software D-Link wireless connection manager will not open at all?

I seem to be downloading everything at 11kbs speeds....instead of the 300kbs that I get in the speedtest verifying the dsl speed rate.

What is happening that I can not use the D-link software & connection utility...is this why the wifi card is not allowing for the higher speed rate of the router?:confused:

Try setting the router in brodcasting g ,and n ,or n only mode update the nic drivers if there is any ,and firmware of the router. Install sp1 for vista if you haven't already With that dlink.

If all else fails just install the nic drivers ,and forget about the dlink's progrm if you want to use the dlink's program instead of windows disable the wirless stuff in addminstrative tools and services.

Check on dlink site for frimware on the card my buddy had a simmailar card ,and the newer drivers/frimware worked alot better.
