Not sure if this is directly a broadband issue of a Vista issue, but.
I helped someone who has Bellsouth DSL IFITL Service, no modem. Without a router either, this requires Windows to login to the PPPoE. I found out, by googling this, that I could make a "dialer", then include that in the Startup Items so that it runs and connects to the PPPoE authentication, when the computer starts up. I have done this once before for someone with XP and it worked. But this person, with Vista, it does not work. Yet, if I go to ALL PROGRAMS - STARTUP - and click the same icon I put there and created, it does run and connect.
Any idea why this is being ignored when the computer starts?
If I go into MSCONFIG, I even see the line for this coming from the Startup Item I created.
Thanks,
John
