Att dsl is completely losing connection when our home phone rings...yet we have filters on all the phone jacks. May be an issue with the outside lines coming into the box on the house? Bought a new modem to go ahead and fix the blinking red dsl light issue i had been having...well thats gone but now im only getting 384kb/s down and the same up....Should be a 1.5mb/s connection. HELP HELP HELP HELP...HELP!!! All the ethernet as well as phone cables connecting everything are brand new and i even bought new dsl filters for all the phone jacks...still the same crap. If anyone has any idea how to fix this i'd really appreciate it!

Make sure you do not put any filter between comp and modem. Filters should only be placed just before the line goes into the phone set.
Any cordless phone set placed near to your modem?
Post your TCP Analyzer report.

well there isnt a cordless phone near the modem but i do have a filter plugged into the phone jack thats plugged into the modem? Its one of the two way filters with phone on one side and dsl on the other...i have the phone line plugged into the dsl port. Do i need to just remove that filter entirely?

This '2-way filter' is also called a splitter.
Make sure it's 3 sockets are connected properly: line socket is for phone line to the wall socket, modem socket is for the cable line from splitter to the modem, and phone socket is for cable line from the splitter to the phone set.

filter is good checked that...tcp analyzer wont come up the page keeps timing out...just replaced my speedstream 4100 for this actiontec modem that was highly recommended and it set up great but the speeds are still reading 384 up and 384 down...optimized settings that used to work no longer affect the speed.
Thinking its something wrong on there end?

Check the line speed in your modem. Your cannot tweak to speeds higher than what your modem is getting from the line.

how do i check the line speed in the modem?
Depends on brand and model. Instruction should be in the user manual. If you do not have a copy, search Google using the model number.
