i've been having slow connections for like two weeks now
and i called my isp and that didn't help
i think it might have something to do with NAT (dunno wat that really means)
because wen i was playing an online game (halo 3) it said my nat type was different or sumthing
it never said that before the connection got slow
i can't even load youtube videos right sometimes
wat are some other possible reasons that it's slow and wat can i do to get it back to normal?

Latest firmware on the wrt54g? By default, MTU manually set to 1500?
The NAT doesn't slow you down..it's part of how a home broadband router works..and that also gives you basic hardware firewall protection.
Depending on what version of wrt54g you have..you may be able to flash it with 3rd party firmware which gives you a little performance boost...such as DD-WRT firmware. Hyper-WRT and Tomato are other 3rd party firmware brands which do the same.
Also...Halo 3...I'm guessing XBox. You have to do a little more tweaking to make routers more XBox friendly. Have the DHCP assign your XBox a static IP address...(reservation). Open/forward the following ports to the IP address you gave your XBox
• UDP 88
• UDP 3074
• TCP 3074
Also..XBox prefers the MTU on the router to be set to 1384...so ignore the 1500 setting above.

If it's an older cable to the modem to router replace it.
