I have purchased a 7mbps connection which is equal to 875kb/sec download speed. I am only getting 80KB/sec, which is kind of occured... here is my A.Report

This is bullshit i still get 80KB/sec, while i'm supose to get more...way more. Bad enough i had my ISP hang up on me while im trying to get the service i need. is there another way then this TCP Optimizer? I don't get why it's so slow.

Do you use torrents, leave them running a lot?

Have a router or firewall? Antivirus/adware scanners?

Your modem may or may not have a firewall...depends on if it's a pure bridged modem (in which case there is no firewall)...or a combo modem router..in which case it's running NAT. Also your Belkin router has a firewall..NAT. That's how broadband routers work..via NAT, you don't want to disable that.

What make/modem modem do you have? If it's a combo modem/router..and you've added your Belkin router to that mix...there's a problem there...you're running double NAT. Not your ISPs fault.

Speedstream 4200 has a built-in router and firewall. Your tracert from hop 2 is blocked by this firewall.

You need to connect your comp directly to the speedstream, log into it and set it into bridge mode to turn off its firewall. Save and reboot the speedstream.

Then connect the belkin to the speedstream. Press the reset button at the rear of the belkin for 5 seconds and release to let it acquire a public WAN IP address from the speedstream. Connect comp to the belkin and you should connect normally.

Was this tracert done without the Belkin? Because the router IP address of 192.168.1.1 at hop 1 is no longer present.

Ping times at the modem in hop 1 of this tracert shows high and uneven ping times.

I suspect you are connecting your comp to the router through some software and it is shown as Local Area Connection 2. Your direct Nic to router connection is probably Local Area Connection 1.

I do not run such a software and connect directly through my Nic and thus have only Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection. This should be the correct way to connect to your router.

Guardian360
05-11-08, 12:18 PM
the only reason why its local area connection 2 is because my ethernet busted and had it replaced with a new one, and ever since it was are connection 2. im not using any software to connect, i don't even believe there is any. But i have read up on articles concerning bell and how many ppl are getting screwed by the internet service. Even while doing speed test i notice its not the required speed i need, its a lot less then what i asked for.

Guardian360
05-11-08, 12:23 PM
even by tweaking the most i can get is maybe 1kb more.. pluss i also noticed when i only have my router on it still gives me same internet speed, so my wireless is fine. I would rather hack my internet connection at this point to tell you the truth. But thats all i need is my ISP giving my a fee and canceling.
