View Full Version : File searching my hard drives

I have file monitor to enable me to check what files are accessing my hard drives.
I have found this one file that seems to search every file I have. Especially mp3 files.
I did a search of my hard drives and the search didn't come up with a location where the file resides.
The file name is: MidAcqu.exe
Now it's possible that it's associated with my Nomad Zen Extra software and is trying to sync my library with the Zen, (which I don't have plugged in right now), but if so why wouldn't it be found in the Creative folder in the Program Files Folder?
Any help appreciated.

You sure it's not mtdacq.exe? I can find info on that, but not a MidAcqu.exe file.

Nope rechecked my spelling and the MidAcqu.exe is what it says.

hmmm the only mention I find now of that .exe on Google is a link right back to this thread. I will try some other sites and see what I find.

Just did a google on it and came up with the Creative link on it. So it does have something to do with my Nomad Zen. As long as its that I guess I'll just ignore it as it's doing something for me.

Just that it will take about 5 minutes to do its search and that slows down my computer considerablely during that time.
So now I'll either have to live with it or do something about it. Don't know which right now.

Process library says its not a critical component, not sure if that means its safe to remove though.

Also read where the Audio people took a guy to court because he ripped from his own cd's to his computer.
Bad vibes about that.

If Im thinking of the same case then there was more to it than that, he was sharing it out over a P2P network as well.
