OK, my office is located 200+ ft. from the main building with a straight line of vision. since there are no drops in my office, and I have been told they will not run wires out there, I have looked at wireless options. I was able to place a linksys router (blue one with 2 antenna on the back) in a window of the main building facing my office. my office is built with concrete block walls, no windows, and I cannot get a strong enough signal to work. (I can connect for a few seconds maybe but get kicked off before I can even pull up a site.) If I step right outside the door of my office I get good enough signal strength (3 bars at most) but step back inside and all is lost. my question is what is the best option for me. I have researched but don't know which will work the best. it seems that a repeater is not the way to go because I would have to place it in my building and the walls block the signal anyway. directional antenna maybe? or any antenna really. can I use an indoor antenna or do I need to have an external. (more work because would have to drill through the concrete wall to run the cord) any help is greatly appreciated here.
