is there anyway i can make a wired connection?

I currently have Wireless, my router is downstairs, and both computers in my house are upstairs. I would of thought connecting an Ethernet cable from router to a computer would not be long enough. The router is connected into the wall so I don't really want to mess with it by moving it.

Would this solution be as good as if it was directly connected through an ethernet cable or it likely to reduce performance like wireless?

When I ran it...I was sick 'n tired of the occasional lag and hangs of wireless when playing online games such as Battlefield DC and 2. So I tried a pair of the AC adapters. Latency disappeared..was just as solid and snappy as if I ran ethernet. I ran into issues when I tried using 3 of them though..didn't seem to get along. A pair worked fine for me. Once every couple of weeks I'd have to power cycle them. Performance varies for people depending on the setup of the homes, quality of the electrical lines, various other factors. Overall..I found the pair worked well for me back then when I was trying them.
