Hi There,
i am experiencing problems setting up my DWL-G122 on a acer travelmate 240 laptop running XP SP1, i have the exact same problem as this guy from another post (except for the win ME part)
(Quote) "I just purchased the D-Link starter kit (DL-524 wireless router/DWL-G122 wireless USB adapter) for my home business. The router works well and I am able to connect a new laptop (Win XP) either by Ethernet or wireless. My desktop (Win ME) connects well via Ethernet but requires the adapter because it does not contain a wireless network card.
I install the driver for the adapter and everything seems to install fine. When it comes to actually connecting to the wireless adapter, the ‘D’ icon simply goes up and down in red and never changes to green. The ‘Act’ light on the adapter blinks but the ‘Lnk’ light never goes on. If I open the configuration utility, the status is ‘disconnected’ with all values as ‘N/A’. Entering my network SSID and WEP encryption HEX code doesn’t do anything. If I remove the adapter, the computer recognizes it’s gone and closes the utility (USB ports work).
In short, the utility never changes to green and it always says ‘Not Connected!’ Is the adapter faulty or is there something I can configure in Win ME? Any ideas?" (End Quote)
i have been scouring forums for days trying to resolve this problem.. ANY ideas would be Greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Brad
