Bridged modem - Suggested cable to purchase

My modem is bridged, so PPPoE is on the computer or router (router in my case). My router is a LinkSys WRT54G with the uplink port. The router mentioned is handling the internet. I ask the question I'm going to ask because I think the cable is the reason I am dropping packets.

What kind of ethernet cable should I buy to connect the modem to the router?

Standard patch cable will work. Crossover is not necessary.
