Need Major Help Plz

Ok, well first of all i needed to reinstall windows on my lap-top, my misses has flung the restore disc out, so i spoke to a friend and he said that it should be ok to use any xp installer, so i used the boot disc from the PC onto the lap-top.
All went well untill i tried to connect wireless to the net, the F2 function didnt turn it on/off.
I had a little look to try and make a new wireless connection, but there was no wireless tab, the wizard wont let me make a new one either, i think that the adapter has been uninstalled, but i cant find the driver disc or that either. the zero thing is turned on ect i just dont know what to do, can anyone help pleeeeeease.

He steered you wrong...most newer laptops require special drivers for onboard devices (such as onboard NICs, sound cards, video displays, monitors, wireless adapters, etc etc)..as well as special functions of hot keys and some Fn keys.

You probably have USB functionality....can use another working PC...go to your laptop brands website, support section..download the drivers for your laptop..and bring them to your laptop using a USB thumb drive.
