Software version of a Network Optimizer?

Hello,

I was looking for some network optimization software that would run in the background to help with enhancing performance for online gaming. I know about the TCP Optimizer and have checked out RASPPPOE but neither one are what I'm after.

I found a Linksys network optimizer,

I am just curious if anyone knows of a software version of something similar?
