Share Wireless Internet Connection Without a Router

I don't know about you all, but for me, this is new news. :nod:

I was playing around with the settings and configurations of my networking, trying to share my internet connection from a simple USB wireless adapter.

I asked around before if I could do this and they told me you need a router.

Maybe a USB wireless adapter can be considered a router..I do not know.

Anyway, I have successfully found out how to share my cable internet connection throughout my house via a small wireless device hooked up with a USB cord.

My brothers macintosh laptop logged on to my pc's "windows" network and we can share internet and files.

Is this just a confusion of language? or is this actually something worth noting?

I still have the process of how to set this up in memory.

Yes, oy os possible to share the files and Internet by placing the wireless adapter in what is called adhoc mode. That, along with Windows Internet Connection Sharing makes it possible.
