westell 6100 model c90 610015-06

Hi Ya'll it's been a while since I have been around.
I have a westell 6100 and lately it will not renew it's ip address. I have searched on the net and found out a lot. I did reset the winsock cause there was no ip , then I got a bad ip of 169.254.103.3.
I have read that that the modem can be set in bridge mode, is this just for 2pc's and a router or one pc. At the moment it is set in routed bridge, which I did not do, verison must have.
I have Win Xp sp2, verison dsl, no spyware of any kind. One pc.
It seems to be working since I reset the winsock, but don't know how long it will last. Any info would be appreciated.

ok, it did it again it will not renew it's ip address. had to run a check disk scan in order to get it to work. Does anyone know what's going on?
Said in the event log that your comp was not able to renew it's address( from the network from the DHCP server) from the network card with network address xxxxxxxxxxxx. the following error occured:the semaphore timeout period has expired.
I've had dsl for two years and never seen any of this before.
Please help.

I have that same model thru verizon, and they have some help tools that look like they'd fix it right up

Thank you Scrote, I have tryed my isp and it did not work.
It is still doing it too.
