Starting on Dec. 4, all Xbox LIVE members will receive a free system update with a host of new features and enhancements. Included in this update will be the launch of Xbox Originals, which, for the first time, will enable consumers to download and own full Xbox games, such as "Halo," "Psychonauts," "Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge" and "Fable," among others, directly to their Xbox 360. This new service will launch with an array of blockbuster titles spanning the most popular genres from action-adventure to classic role-playing games.

sounds cool, a little expensive for one old game though.

Well it'll open up some more options for homebrew that's for sure.
I certainly don't think it's worth it to even bother with downloading the Xbox games off XBM.
There's nothing added to them, they're all direct ports of the original, so no live, no achievements, nothing at all which I find to be a bit of a rip off seeing as I can just go to my local games store and buy the originals (some still have some old brand new unsold games) for a fraction of the price.

Counter-point: Crimson Skies has always have XBL gameplay, and the download version will contain it as well.

Counter-counter-point: If I didn't already own it, it isn't exactly hard to find at a used game shop for $2.

At best, I'm hoping this service will give some of the most underlooked games of that generation (such as Psychonauts and Indigo) a second chance, but I honestly can't see myself buying any of them.

Actually, thank you for pointing that out.
What I meant to say was if the game didn't already have Xbox Live enabled into it, the one you download off the XBM will also not have Xbox Live enabled.

So no Xbox Live for Halo 1.
