Help me here, I can't figure this one out...
Lost connection with my Verizon DSL today. Took router out of the picture by ethernet connection directly from Westell DSL modem to my laptop. No joy. Shut modem and system down, restarted modem. Got all 3 good lights. Fired up laptop. No joy. Release/renew IP, still nada.
Called Verizon and after an hour of the usual, she "reset" the modem, which gave it a new IP and all worked fine.
Re-connected the router, no joy. Accessed the router via browser and discovered that there was no IP in status. Was 0.0.0.0
Reset router to factory defaults, restarted all, no joy.
Got a different spare router, went thru it all again and no joy.
Removed router, restarted modem and laptop. No joy. Now, I get nothing from the modem direct to laptop, just like before.
I can't think of anything I'm forgetting and that the problem is with the Westell DSL modem.
Please offer any advice. Thx in advance.
