I play with my cousin and 2 friends and my xbox 360 jams way more than theirs do.
I started keeping tally and mine jams 3 times more than theirs do. When I jam I get a disc read error 2 outa 3 times. The other 1 outa 3 being a a frozen screen.
Anything I can do?

Call MS and describe your problem, I think Jim can provide you with the number or you can get it in your user manual or google it ...thats what I would do.
[describe your problem in worst colors]
IMO, they will send you box with return label and you will get new 360.
I'm pretty sure the waiting period is no longer then 10 business days.
Sounds like your discs could have potentially been scuffed by the 360. This happens alot if they get bumped ever so slightly. Look at the disc and see if there is a ring worn all the way around it, and if so Find a disc resurfacer and get the game disc resurfaced. They are found at the local record/cd shops here and cost like 2$ to get resurfaced like new.

double post.
You have one of those fan things that go on the back, or bottom?
My friend's 360 had trouble just like yours, it destroyed like 5 disks, he bought one and his 360 worked fine.

:rtfm:
I don't even know what you mean by "jam" though. It's locking up or freezing? The disc tray is getting jammed and not ejecting or retracting? Is it giving you the raspberry, Lone Starr-style?
As far as the warranty goes, they'll either fix your system, send you a refurbished one, or in some cases, a brand new one (but don't count on that).

usually the game cuts off and the left side xbox message thingy pops up saying "disc read error". This happens DURING the game.
Other times it will just straight freeze.
It's not scuffing any discs.

I'm not going to pay extra for it to work properly.
Your problems don't sound like they are heat-related in any way, so an intercooler or similar product isn't needed.
There's obviously a problem with the disc drive. Call them up and have them send you the prepaid coffin, as Rivas pointed out. To stay on the safe side, even if it hasn't marked up any discs yet, I'd avoid putting anything in the drive until your replacement system arrives.

Is the replacement new or a refurb? Would it come with better equipment?
I don't wanna do it unless I'm guaranteed a better working xbox in return rather than a different one that could end up with other problems.
While I did buy it recently I think my xbox was one of the originals as the wal mart I bought it at had omish buggies parked all over the lot.
I'm gonna suffer through halo 3 and then mail it in probably.
Forgot to ask. Do they transfer your hdd info for you, let you keep your current hdd, or your **** outa luck if you don't have a memory card?

In theory, they're giving you one with the problem fixed, whether it's your own or another. Those prepaid shipping boxes aren't cheap, so they're not going to intentionally send you a unit that's expected to have a problem. Whether or not it's a fixed older model or a newer model is, again, up for grabs, but the fix should work.
The only 100% guaranteed way of getting a new 360 is to buy...a new 360.
EDIT: You keep your HDD.

Ok, thanks for the info.
Planning to play through halo 3 coop with a few friends. Then I'll call them up and tell them about the constant disc read errors.
