I've been searching around on the forum and i found a few posts by backslash and Trogers. I basically have the same problem as backslash.

the game im trying to play is global maplestory. Which i believe is the one with servers situated mostly around America. I recently moved to Italy from Canada and I wanted to continue playing the game I played with my friends but I have terrible lag. Not bad to the point of my game exploding like backslash but its still pretty bad.

I know this is probably because of me being in Italy and the servers im playing on being far away but is there nothing I could do with the IP optimizer just to make it a bit better? I got my tcp/ip optimizer not too long ago and i had my friend set it up for me but the game we were playing was located in...japan..i think? well either way, I'm completely clueless on how to use it seeing as how my friend didnt do much to help me at the time, I dont think he knows much more than I do. :p

Any help would be really apreciated. Thanks :D

TCP Optimizer tweaks your registry for optimum MTU and RWIN values.

Lag times and high ping times cannot be affected by settings in your Windows Registry. They are properties of your signal route and subjected to traffic conditions along the signal path.

Do a tracert to the game server. If high and uneven ping times are seen in the first 3 hops, it means your signal devices or cable lines have problems and you can do some corrections. If the high and uneven ping times happen at hops beyond the 4th hop, there is not much you can do except to try some other game server.

Oh i see. Thanks, but could you please explain how to do a tracert? Lol.

Here is an example for a tracert to www.yahoo.com

To do a tracert, click 'Start' and then 'Run'. Type "cmd" into the box and click 'ok'.

A DOS black screen will appear. Type after the C:\>

tracert www.yahoo.com

and press enter key

"Unable to resolve target system name http://maplestory.nexon.net/"

I'm stumped :P
