I'm trying to use the RV042 in a pretty reasonable way but don't seem to
find much information about how it's supposed to work. Here are some things
that I seem to have found but have no way to really confirm:

- For a VPN to work, the RV042 has to be in Gateway mode.

- If in Gateway mode, the static routes don't work (????)

- How do static routes affect operation when there's a VPN? with the VPN?

Does no one know? I've been asking lots of questions lately and getting
mostly no responses. I don't think the questions are too off the wall.

Thanks,

Fred

Have you accessed the Linksys technicall support web page for the
RV042

go to www.linksys.com -> Support -> Technical support

click on "hoose a Product" button

enter Model number RV042

see Linksys doc "Setting-Up a VPN Tunnel on Two Linksys Routers" @

Yes, I have.

The issue I'm raising is getting information about how the RV042 works, not
how to set it up. I can set up a VPN OK. But, there are other features
that I'd like to use (like routing) that don't seem to work. And, there
seems to be *no* information regarding the interrelationship between using a
pair of RV042s as VPN devices and using static routes in them at the same
time.
