View Full Version : Can't connect to internet but connected to router
I had a virus that could't get rid of. Reformatted windows, reinstalled all drivers now I can not get to internet. Have tried wireless and also directly to ethernet card. Both will get a connection, but can't get on line. my ip address is either not there or changes on it own. any thoughts?

OK sounds like you're connecting to the router fine...if you're getting a 192.168.0.xxx address. Netgear router?
Is your TCP/IP set to obtain automatically.
Since you seem to be connecting to the router fine..can you log into your routers web admin page? Probably 192.168.0.1
Now...check to see that your router is setup properly for your ISP..and that your routers WAN interface is obtaining a public IP from your ISP.
