I have done all the tweaks and was happy with the results, but last night was very slow so I phoned virgin and they gave me a site that checks the speed direct to them, here are the results.
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 4000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 5088 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 3716 kbps
What I am concerned about is the message, IP profile for your line is - 4000 kbps,
when I signed up with Virgin they cheked my line and said that I could expect speeds up to 8000, why then is my profile only 4000, are they holding me back, or is it just the way things are?
