Actually no. It must be limited to your particular PC. Perhaps a conflict with something else in there? I have had my setup for 2 months now and to this point I haven't had a single issue.
What kind of specific problem are you having?

lower FPS in game than on XP, graphics are not as good, I had better chances at winning a 4 ball lottery drawing than getting bf2142 to even load the map to play
not to mention I wasn't happy watching my Ram chips which have led's on them to denote the usage being WIDE open all the time even if desktop is just sitting there. I don't care what ram you have it can't be a good thing and i'm sure they will go bad faster.
hmm that's odd man. I have BF2142 myself and had no issues loading games. In fact it loads very fast.

I used crucial ballistix ram once but the rest of the setup didn't like it and I wasn't too happy with the performance..so I went better with this Corsair high dollar stuff..but regardless of what ram you use Vista cranks the usage up idle way too high if you ask me regardless of read times and accessablity. Its something they need to tone down a bit.

No its not. :rotfl:
I still think it must be your setup. Not to be argumentative because there is no point in that, but I just don't have those issues. My usage is minimal when idling and for that matter isn't to bad when I am cranking out games either. Almost makes me think there is some other issue going on there with your setup. :(
*shrugs*
hmm I just realized you are running Vista on 32 bit. Hard to say if that is it or not, but I am running mine on 64.

yeah 32bit, but I bet you your not getting no where near the FPS in game as you would on XP..the drivers are just not there yet. As for loading 2142 well might be just something in there when I loaded the game that didn't take very well but I'll wait and figure that out later maybe but Vista isn't going back on my gaming rig till Crysis comes out then I may end up building a whole new one.

Hard to say what my computer would do with XP. I built this thing specifically to time it with the release of Vista (Shortly thereafter actually). I won't argue that it might perform better on XP since XP has been out longer, but I just don't have the handling problems you do. :nope:

yeah its not as big of a problem anymore since vista will just sit on my shelf for a few more months perhaps when SP1 and Crysis comes out which prob about the same time It will get loaded back on.

There is really no difference in RAM usage on 32-bit versus 64-bit, as I recently made the transition from 2GB of RAM to 4GB and had to upgrade the OS to use it.

Any guesses where Sava is having performance degradation at then?

Not fully stable overclock, memory errors, drivers, mobo, mobo firmware, ...
Is your PC overclocked Sava?

I didn't OC any of the system when I moved to vista, memory errors were from Graphics drivers since other than the 7series or other cards the 8800GTX seems to be the hardest for nvidia to nail down..the mobo was fully updated along with everything else.

not a one out this set i've had.. the ballistix were awful though just a bad batch all around. These corsair chips are great but after Vista is run on them for a month it sucks the life out of them.
