Win2k.... NTFS or FAT32???

when installing the file system.. which should i chose.. NTFS or FAT32?

what would be the benifit of have NTFS rather then FAT32...

would the be any conflict of having NTFS, ie program problems or driver problems?

I chose FAT 32, I think NTFS is specifically for like the servers and network related stuff. FAT 32 you have all the compatibity of most you normal win98 programs, in NTFS you would not.

(NOTE: I am most likely wrong, this is just what I understand to be right, as a friend said to only pick FAT32.) please correct me if I'm wrong. thanks. :)

If you're gonna Dualboot, then keep leave it at Fat32. If you're paranoid and want security, then convert to NTFS.

haha..

but i got win98se on my e: drive partition... so win2k would be on my c: drive... would this setup be good? or win98se on C: and win2k on e:

D: and F: drives is another HDD....

I think most people with a dual have win 98 on C:\ and the other O/S (s) on D:\, E:\ etc.
This makes uninstalling and reformatting
a lot easier.

i did fat32 ... and have both on drive c and have dual boot..
on my laptop i did the other ntfs and i had a hell of a time removing it i dunno if it was some thing i did but i had to get the compaq system save disks it was a drag... so i dunno if it was just me and what i told it to do ...or if ntfs is just plain hard to remove "i couldn't get into does.... or start win2k all the way cuz my labtop wouldn't copy it right...."

Hey NTFS is Sweet the really cool thing about it is file size that means every cluster on the drive is 512bytes, not 4K or 8K or 16K or 32K or more on larger drives, this means you have less slack space on your hard drive which helps to save space. Also NTFS is a lot more secure, it a lot harder for a person to get data from an NTFS partition.

I think it's faster too, but I don't really know, it not hard to nuke an ntfs partition just use partition magic or the partition software in NT
