Help me with my Linksys Router please.

Hello, im having some trouble with my router. My internet is fine on every computer on my LAN, but my xbox is having some problems. It says that in order to connect to Xbox Live, i need to change my MTU on my Linksys router to above 1500. How do i do such a thing? and will doing this have an effect on any computers on my LAN?

Above 1500? That sounds very wrong, and yes that would not be good.
